Defence Food Research Laboratory (DFRL)j under the aegis of Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO), Ministry of Defence, Govt of India is engaged in the R&D activities with an objective to cater to the food requirements of the Armed Forces deployed at extreme environmental conditions. The main focus of the laboratory is in carrying out cutting edge technology in the field of Food Science and Technology which comprises research work in the areas of development of long shelf life ready to eat convenience foods, preservation of foods using various processing techniques, development and evaluation of food packaging materials, analysis and development of test kits for the detection of food spoilage and development of various functional, performance enhancing and stress reliving foods based on natural plant materials. The laboratory is well equipped with the state-of-the art analytical and other infrastructural facilities.
Applications are invited from young, meritorious and motivated candidates of Indian Nationals for the post of DRDO Junior Research Fellows (JRFs) to work in ongoing and future research projects of DFRL, Mysore and the selected JRFs will be facilitated to register for Ph.D.
GUIDELINES:
1. The tenure of Junior Research Fellowship is initially for two years and will be elevated for one year as SRF, subject to satisfactory performance to be assessed by the Committee.
2. Qualification for the above post will be determined as on last date of receipt of
application.
3. Application form be downloaded from www.drdo.gov.in. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:
1. (a) Candidates who are not meeting the above mentioned qualification need. not to
apply
(b) The selected candidates shall register for Ph.D in their respective subjects and
Candidates those who are interested to register for Ph.D ONLY apply and others
NEED NOT APPLY
2.. Candidates working in Govt.z Public Sector Undertakings/Autonomous Bodies should submit No Objection Certificate (NOC) along with application.
3. Candidates need to produce their suitable documents for proof of Castel Age,
Education Qualification/ NET/ GATE and NOC (wherever applicable) along with
Passport size photograph, failing which, the application wil1 be rejected.
4. Application form appended in this advertisement may be typed and submitted along with copies of testimonials/ documents (as mentioned in the Para 3) to the Director, Defence Food Research Laboratory, Siddhartha Nagar, Mysore-570011 through Speed post only. Applications sent through courier will not be received and accepted. The envelope containing the applications may be super -scribed as Recruitment of Junior Research Fellows-2021
5. Antecedent of selected candidates will be verified at the time of joining, if selected.
6. Admission shall not be claimed by any candidate as a matter of right. The admission shall be entirely at the discretion of the Selection Committee of the Laboratory which may refuse to admit any candidate without assigning any reason thereof. Number of seats for JRF may increase or decrease without prior notice.
7. It may please be noted that offer of Fellowship does not confer on Fellows any right
of absorption in DRDO.
8. Candidate will have to mention the Position and Subject for which he/she appears/ applied.
9. Short-listed candidates shall be called for written test/interview at Defence Food
Research Laboratory, Mysore. Information will be sent through e-mail/speed post to the candidates. No T AIDA will be paid for attending the written test/interview.
10. Candidates may bring project report/technical work demo in support of their candidature.
11. The last date to receive the application is 30 days from the date of advertisement.
